PRIOR WORK EXPERIENCE

Senior Corporate/ Commercial Counsel – Law House Advocates & Legal Consultants

Serving in a quasi-in-house role and representing a select group of companies in their correlated endeavors throughout the MENA region.

• Counseled financial institutions on credit facilities and undertakings, banking authorizations, corporate governance, securitization, compliance issues, and remedial collection measures.
• Structured multinational joint ventures, advised on corporate formations and establishment of subsidiaries, cross-border investment, choice of law and jurisdictional matters.
• Transactional work – drafting MOUs, LOIs, various agreements, contract review.
• Extensive drafting, review, and revisions of a variety of IT/IP agreements.
• Advised on litigation and alternative dispute resolution in construction, finance and industry.

International Corporate Counsel – Private Practice

Choosing to tackle a new and challenging field, David Anderson resigned from the Public Defender’s Office and began working in the international corporate and commercial sector throughout the Middle East, South-East Asia and the United States.

• Advised on corporate formations, compliance issues, corporate governance matters, shareholder issues, real estate/construction law, trusts and estates and civil matters.
• Conducted extensive contract drafting, negotiation and review – including EPC, EPCM, BOT and FIDIC contracts.
• Multi-disciplinary transactional work, JVs and M&A agreements, drafting MOUs and LOIs, aided in structuring transactions, negotiating and drafting asset acquisition/ disposal agreements, and advised on compliance and competition concerns.

Senior Litigation Attorney – Missouri State Public Defender’s Office

Seeking additional litigation experience and having served in a prosecutorial role for the U.S. Attorney’s Office and the Saint Louis Circuit Attorney’s Office, Mr. Anderson chose to serve with the Missouri State Public Defender’s Office. During his tenure, David Anderson successfully litigated more than a dozen trials, became a senior litigation attorney, and closed more than seven-hundred cases. Such service does not often provide an attorney with accolades, but Mr. Anderson received letters of thanks from many of his clients, as he always listened to and respected his clients, despite the charge.

Corporate Externships

Of Counsel – Anheuser Busch World Headquarters

Assisted in transactional work including sales contracts, finance, reviewing compliance measures.

Of Counsel – Trans States Airlines

Aided in the finance and cross-border purchase of aircraft for service in the airline’s fleet.

Of Counsel – City of Saint Louis Circuit Attorney’s Office

Continuing to serve in an Of Counsel capacity, David Anderson served with the City of Saint Louis Circuit Attorney’s Office as second chair in multiple trials, conducted extensive legal research, assisted in depositions and witness interviews. The Innocence Project was also a focus of Anderson’s service and hundreds of files were reviewed to determine whether DNA testing could serve the interests of justice for those related convictions.

Of Counsel – United States Attorney Office

David Anderson began providing legal services at the United States Attorney’s Office, Eastern District of Missouri, in an Of Counsel/ intern capacity. Mr. Anderson worked to augment the U.S. Attorneys’ role as the chief federal law enforcement officers in their district, aiding in federal criminal and civil cases involving the United States Government.

• Successfully won a federal commercial fraud appellate decision on the briefs.
• Assisted in bank and mortgage fraud conspiracy cases and Medicare fraud cases by gathering and evaluating evidence and interviewing multiple witnesses.
• Recognized by supervising attorneys for exceptional work on multiple civil and criminal commercial investigations and prosecutions.
